While the all-new addition might be called the BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe, it's actually a four-door sedan. Undoubtedly, this comes as exciting news to BMW enthusiasts in Norwell, looking for a luxury car that's well, a little more passenger friendly.

Three variants of the new BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe will be released in total. The first, the 640i Gran Coupe, is expected to arrive in early-to-mid 2012 with the 650i Gran Coupe and 650i Gran Coupe xDrive following closely in late summer 2012.

Power in each of the three BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe variants ranges from a highly competitive 315 hp/330 lb.-ft. of torque to a fierce 445 hp/480 lb.-ft. of torque. Similarly, zero-to-60 mpg sprint times range from a thrilling 5.4 seconds to an eye-watering 4.5 seconds.

Power and acceleration times aside, each BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe shares a longer, wider wheelbase; greater passenger legroom; standard 8-speed automatic transmission complete with BMW EfficientDynamics; BMW Brake Energy Regeneration; BMW Start-Stop technology; three different driving modes; and advanced aerodynamics. Inside, the exclusive Gran Coupe design (featuring a rich blend of supple Opal White and Amaro Brown leather appointments) is at once sporty, classy and inviting.
